2025 NBA Cup Finals Matchup Officially Set Ahead Of Tuesday's Finale
Dec 15, 2025
This NBA season features the third-ever NBA Cup, and while many fans don't see the point of the in-season tournament, it's safe to say that under Adam Silver, it’s here to stay. Despite the doubters, this year's tournament has been full of fun, with the semi-finals taking place over the weekend involving two matchups of New York/Orlando and San Antonio/Oklahoma City.
Any potential matchup of those four teams would be intriguing to NBA fans, but after two hard-fought matchups, we've now officially got our championship game.
This season, we'll see the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs battle it out for the third NBA Cup, and with the star power on hand, especially Victor Wembanyama and Jalen Brunson, it's safe to say that this should be appointment viewing for basketball fans. Both teams come into this matchup full of momentum, and given that they are two of the deepest lineups in the league, this could end up being a preview of the NBA Finals as well.

The Spurs' victory over the Thunder may have been one of the most surprising this season, as the defending champions came into the matchup sitting at 24–1 in 2025–26, but with the Alien leading the way, this is a team ready to make a statement. The championship game will take place on Tuesday in Las Vegas, and while the NBA Cup may not have won over everyone just yet, this should be a matchup for all NBA fans to watch as we see two of the top teams in the league do battle.
