Suns Owner Ishbia Thinks The Team's Culture Has Completely Turned Over

After an offseason that saw serious turnover, Phoenix Suns owner Matt Ishbia believes the team has changed its culture.

The Suns have been going for it over the last few years. Looking to build around franchise cornerstone Devin Booker, the Suns have added veterans like Chris Paul, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal to the team.

The additions were not enough to get the Suns over the hump in a tough Western Conference, and the team has entered a rebuild. Kevin Durant was traded to the Rockets in a package that brought back young scorer Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, and multiple draft picks.

The team also used the waive and stretch provision to clear Bradley Beal off their roster. The three-time All-Star would later sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Ishbia believes his team has changed for the better. He told Arizona Sports' Burns and Gambo:

"We have young players that are ascending instead of players that are descending. We have players that wanna be here, that are bought into the Phoenix Suns’ culture. I can take the criticism for not defining (that culture) well enough when I bought the team, but it is defined very clearly now."

Green is one of those young players. The former second overall pick in the NBA Draft averaged 21.3 points for the Rockets last year along with 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists. The team also used a lottery draft pick on Kal Maluach frorm Duke. In the second round, the team added Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea. They will be led by new head coach Jordan Ott.
