The Highest Points Scored Against the LA Clippers in NBA History

From their days as the Buffalo Braves to the San Diego Clippers and finally settling in Los Angeles, the franchise has endured some of basketball's most devastating individual scoring performances. Whether at the Memorial Auditorium, the Staples Center, or the modern Intuit Dome, the Clippers have been subject to some of the most memorable games in NBA history.

1. David Robinson71 Points

On the final day of the 1993–94 regular season, San Antonio Spurs center David Robinson put on one of the most impressive individual performances in NBA history. On April 24, 1994, "The Admiral" exploded for 71 points against the Clippers at the LA Sports Arena, shooting 26-of-41 from the field, 1-of-2 from three-point range, and 18-of-25 from the free throw line in 44 minutes.

Robinson added 14 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks to his 71-point explosion as the Spurs won 112–97. What made this performance even more significant was the context, as Robinson entered the game trailing Orlando's Shaquille O'Neal in the race for the NBA scoring title. He needed 68 points to clinch the crown, and Robinson delivered with three points to spare, finishing the season with a 29.8 points per game average to O'Neal's 29.3.

2. Shaquille O'Neal62 Points

In the crosstown rivalry's heyday, Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal put on a big man’s clinic against the Clippers on March 6, 2000. Playing in front of the Staples Center crowd, O’Neal dominated for 61 points on 24-of-35 shooting and 13-of-22 from the free-throw line in 45 minutes.

O'Neal added a ridiculous 23 rebounds and 3 assists in the Lakers' 123–103 victory. The performance showcased peak O’Neal, unstoppable in the paint, overpowering defenders, and finishing with authority on nearly every possession. With 7 offensive rebounds, Shaq created second-chance opportunities at will. The Clippers tried to counter with Michael Olowokandi, who lasted just 14 minutes, and Pete Chilcutt, both of whom were easily overmatched.

This game came during the Lakers' run to the first of three consecutive championships, and it served as a reminder that when Shaquille O'Neal was locked in, there was simply no defense that could contain him.

3. Nikola Jokić—55 Points

Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić filled the box score against the Clippers on November 12, 2025. Playing at Intuit Dome, the Joker erupted for 55 points on an efficient 18-of-23 shooting, including 5-of-6 from three-point range and 14-of-16 from the free throw line in just 34 minutes.

Jokić added 12 rebounds, 6 assists, a steal, and a block as the Nuggets demolished the Clippers 130–116, with Jokić telling the story of complete dominance. What made this performance particularly special was the efficiency, as Jokić shot 78.3% from the field while scoring from all three levels.

The three-time MVP showcased why he's considered one of the greatest players in basketball history. His ability to score in the post, knock down threes, and get to the free-throw line makes him one of the most unstoppable players in the league. In just over half a game's worth of minutes, Jokić put together one of the most efficient high-scoring performances ever recorded.

4. Giannis Antetokounmpo—54 Points

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo torched the Clippers for 54 points on February 2, 2023, at Fiserv Forum. As one of just three Bucks players to score in double digits, the Greek Freak shot 21-of-39 from the field, 2-of-8 from three-point range, and 10-of-15 from the free throw line in 36 minutes.

Antetokounmpo dominated the glass with 19 rebounds (4 offensive, 15 defensive) while adding 2 assists in the Bucks' 106–105 nail-biting victory. His ability to attack the rim and finish through contact kept the Clippers' defense on their heels all night. Despite shooting just 25% from three, the Bucks' All-NBA forward, using his size, speed, and power, found ways to score through transition, mid-range shots, and free throws.

5. Dominique Wilkins—53 Points

Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins put on a vintage display of athleticism and scoring touch against the Clippers on January 12, 1987. "The Human Highlight Film" poured in 53 points at The Omni, shooting 19-of-25 from the field, 1-of-1 from three-point range, and 14-of-19 from the free throw line in 37 minutes.

Wilkins added 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks as the Hawks won comfortably, 125–115, in a game that was closer than it should have been, considering the teams' records.

This mid-winter performance was a prime example of how Wilkins earned his nickname, as he found a way to dismantle the Clippers with thunderous dunks, smooth mid-range jumpers, and trips to the free-throw line.
