Charlotte Hornets Hit A Nine-Game Win Streak For The First Time In Almost Three Decades

For decades now, the Charlotte Hornets have been one of the most irrelevant franchises in not only the NBA, but all of North American sports, with the team not winning a playoff round since 2001/02 and not making the post-season since 2015/16. To start the 2025/26 campaign, things looked like they would end as many of their previous seasons have, but then, things started to click for this young, hungry, exciting core.

Despite having a record of 16-28, the Hornets quickly found their momentum, as they have now won nine straight games, doing so for the first time in almost three decades, with their three best players yet to be born the last time it happened.

This season has been all about the young core, with Brandon Miller (20 PPG), LaMelo Ball (19, 5 and 8) and Kon Knueppel (19, 6 and 3) leading the way, giving this fanbase something to truly cheer for. It's been a long time coming, but with this trio and some solid depth around them, the Hornets are no longer just a feel good story, but a team that could be a genuine dark horse in a wide open Eastern Conference.

Ultimately, there's no telling whether or not this turn around for Charlotte can be sustained, and while the win streak will come to an end soon, it's safe to say that NBA fans are happy for those that have stuck things out in Charlotte for years of struggles.
