Reporter Reveals Huge Package the Miami Heat Offered For Kevin Durant

In a tweet on Friday, reporter Barry Jackson laid out the full package that the Miami Heat offered for Kevin Durant and Cody Martin.

The Miami Heat have been a consistent winner for decades but have hit a bit of a rough patch over the past few years. Team stalwart and captain, Jimmy Butler, began to make waves last year and made things so difficult that he was traded to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Andrew Wiggins.

Durant was one of the biggest prizes available this offseaason and the Heat was one of the teams interested. According to Jackson, they made a large offer. He tweeted:

"Per source with direct knowledge, Heat was willing to offer Wiggins, Rozier, Highsmith, Jaquez and 20th pick in June's draft for Durant & Cody Martin. Per Shams, Suns wanted Jaquez, Jović, Highsmith, 20th pick and a pick swap (as well as Wiggins/Rozier inclusion). SO...Jovic and Kasparas J. need to work out for justify the decision, which was a difficult one for Heat to reach."

In the end, Durant was traded to the Houston Rockets in a trade that brought back Jalen Green. The Heat did make one serious move this offseason, trading for shooting guard Norman Powell.

The Heat may be missing a big star on the level of Kevin Durant, but they do have plenty of talent on their roster. It will be up to coach Erik Spoelstra to get the most out of a roster than included Kel'El Ware, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Andrew Wiggins and Powell.
