Phoenix Pairs Booker With Star Point Guard in This Suns-Hawks Trade Idea
Nov 28, 2025
The Phoenix Suns are one of the best surprises of this young NBA season. They are 12–7, good for the 6th seed in the hyper-competitive Western Conference. Many believed that after the Suns traded away Kevin Durant, they would fall into being a lottery team. Devin Booker and the Suns have proven they are much more than that.
Still, you have to wonder, could the Suns make a big trade to get even better? Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report laid out one Suns trade idea that could help bring the team to the next level.
"Trade idea: Trae Young to the Phoenix Suns for Jalen Green, Nick Richards, Rasheer Fleming, a 2027 first-round pick (via UTA, CLE, or MIN), and a 2029 second-round pick
Trade winds aren't swirling around Young at the moment, but that dam might break as soon as he's back from an MCL sprain. Atlanta has hardly missed a beat in his absence and has, in fact, fared a whopping 14.2 points better per 100 possessions without him this season… If Phoenix wants to lighten the load on Devin Booker, Young could make that happen. He commands constant attention from opposing defenses for both his prolific playmaking (the reigning assists champion) and deep scoring range. Let those two loose in the backcourt, add in the Suns' size and length up front, and maybe you've just made the Suns into a true two-way problem."

This would certainly make the Suns a lot better. Trae Young has his flaws, but he has the ability to lead an elite NBA offense. Pair that with Devin Booker, and the Suns could be legitimately dangerous, especially because the Suns won't have to give up much of their current talent to make this trade happen.
Whether the Hawks would want this package for Young is another story. But hey, why not ask?
