Jeremy Lin Held a Camp for the Top AAPI Players in the NCAA

This weekend, former NBA star Jeremy Lin held an invite-only basketball camp for the top AAPI college basketball players in the country.

It's wild to think about it, but it is now nearly 14 years since Linsanity happened. Lin, the last man off the bench for the Knicks, all of a sudden became one of the best players in the NBA for a 25-game stretch.

The point guard from Harvard rode that wave into seven more NBA seasons and a championship ring from his time with the Toronto Raptors in 2018-19.

Lin would move on to China to play in 2019 and is currently playing for the New Taipei Kings of the Taiwan Professional Basketball League.

There are plenty of kids who were inspired by Lin to play basketball, and some of them are now stars in the college game. As one of the most prominent Asian players ever he is giving back to people standing in the shoes he was once in.

Lin told the San Francisco Chronicle:

"For me, it was two motivations. One was just to be able to kind of share what I’ve picked up through the course of my career, a lot of lessons I’ve learned the hard way. Things I wish I knew when I was their age. The second thing is, can we create community around this? It comes back from maybe me feeling the lack of that, of feeling the weight of being a trailblazer, or the weight of being ‘the first’ or ‘the only.’
