Here's Anthony Edwards Not So Subtly Showing Interest In The Miami Heat
Feb 25, 2026
Anthony Edwards is the undisputed main man of the Minnesota Timberwolves, a team that he has led to the Western Conference Finals for two straight years. Edwards appears to be locked in as the leader of the pack in Minnesota, but could he be interested in joining another squad sooner or later?
A viral clip from All-Star Weekend gives Wolves fans something to think about. In this clip, Edwards chats with Norman Powell, who has blossomed into a first-time All-Star in his new home this season.
“You liking Miami?” Edwards asks Powell in the clip. When the Heat forward answers in the affirmative, Ant-Man adds, “S*** looks like a vibe.”
This may very well amount to nothing more than small talk between two NBA players who don’t get to interact that much. Of course, one can’t help but notice that Edwards has been paying enough attention to the Heat that he can confidently conclude they’re a “vibe.”
The aura surrounding the Heat has been around South Beach for as long as the legendary Pat Riley has been around as team president. Players and pundits alike have been saying for decades that “Heat culture” is real. That is, the identity of toughness, team play and intelligent decision-making truly exists among the players, coaching staff, and front office.

Would Edwards be a good fit within Heat culture? That could be the case, based on what he’s shown on the court over the past six years. While the 24-year-old has been caught on camera goofing around every now and then, he is all business from tip-off to final buzzer, working hard on both ends of the floor.
Edwards in a Heat uniform, though, might not be happening any time soon. The four-time All-Star is in year two of a five-year, $244 million contract, and the Wolves are in good shape as playoff contenders for at least another season.
But, as soon as reports of Edwards being unhappy in Minnesota hit social media, a chunk of fans will point back to this interaction with Powell as a “clue” to his next NBA destination.
