Former NBA Standout Says He Hates the Way The Game is Played Now

In a video posted online, former NBA standout Cuttino Mobley said that he hates the way NBA teams play the game today.
Cuttino Mobley, who played in the NBA for 12 years, knows a thing or two about scoring points. The shooting guard averaged 16.4 points per game over the course of his career. He was also an incredibly well conditioned athlete, averaging 37.0 minutes per game during his career.
Unfortunately for Mobley, he was diagnosed with a heart condition prior to the 2009-2010 season and he was forced to immediately retire from the game.
Today, Mobley is the co-captain of the Power, a team in the Big 3 basketball league. He is also an avid watcher of the NBA and doesn't care for the way the game is played today.
Mobley said in his video, "If you shoot that many threes, if you think about their method to their madness, then you should be scoring more points. But you're not."
The former Clipper standout continued, "So, how is your method working? I don't understand it. You're going from three-point line to three-point line. No one's going inside the paint. Anthony Edwards takes four more threes a game this year and averages two more points. You tell me what math that is."
It is not all that unusual for former stars of a sport to condemn the way the game is played, but Mobley certainly has a point about how often teams are shooting three-pointers. It has certainly helped teams like the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics, but hasn't helped them all.
