Draymond Green Reveals Who Will Lead The Warriors Once He And Steph Curry Retire
Oct 21, 2025
For the better part of the last 15 years, the Golden State Warriors have been led by Draymond Green and Steph Curry, and it's led them to immense success. With four NBA Championships under their belt, this is one of the biggest dynasties in NBA history, and while there has been a rotating cast around them, Green and Curry have always been at the center of this success.
However, they're both in their late 30s now, and while they have high hopes for the near future, beyond that, there is a plan in place. There's drama surrounding Jonathan Kuminga, but when asked about the future of the Warriors, Draymond Green pointed to another young star, Brandin Podziemski, as one who can carry the torch moving forward.
“I think you can look at the trajectory of this thing and where it’s all going, and we all believe he’s going to be one of the guys that takes the torch and run with it.”
The 22-year-old was a first-round pick of the Warriors in the 2023 NBA Draft, and in two seasons with the team thus far, he's shown tremendous upside. Last year, Podziemski averaged 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, and clearly, he's won over the locker room, with Green anointing him a key piece of the future.

It's unclear when we'll see the end of the Green/Curry pairing in Golden State, but with some solid young pieces for the future, the team could be set up for success if they play their cards right heading into their eventual retirements.
