Warriors Sign Stephen Curry's Brother, Seth Curry to a Training Camp Deal

The pieces are finally starting to fit together for the Golden State Warriors. After a long and unproductive offseason, Jonathan Kuminga’s contract signing on Tuesday has allowed the team to start the process of completing its roster for the 2025–26 NBA season.
The other Warriors free agent signings that are confirmed are those of Al Horford, Gary Payton II, and De’Anthony Melton.
Seth Curry is also expected to join the team for training camp, and likely beyond.

Shams Charania announced, “Free agent guard Seth Curry has agreed to a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, sources tell ESPN. Seth and Stephen Curry team up on the Warriors beginning with training camp on Wednesday.”
What is interesting about the Warriors–Seth Curry signing is that Curry will join the team on a training camp deal, but will likely get cut before the season starts. Then the Warriors are expecting to fill the 15th spot on their roster with him a few weeks into the season.
The reason for this is nothing else than cap logistics. The Warriors are planning to have Curry be part of their roster, but for now, they can only get him officially signed for training camp. Once the season starts, the Warriors are expected to use their roughly $2 million in cap space to sign Seth.
Seth, like his brother Steph, is one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA. Outside of Curry, the Warriors have struggled from deep over the last few seasons. Signing Seth is a sure way to get their three-point percentages up, as well as create more spacing for Steph and Jimmy Butler to operate on the offensive end.
The real determinant of Seth Curry’s role on the Warriors will be how well he plays defense. The Warriors can’t afford to have negative defensive contributors on the floor, so if Seth is going to get minutes, he is going to have to prove himself defensively.
