The Jazz Have Re-Upped With Center Oscar Tshiebwe
Aug 20, 2025
The Utah Jazz have re-signed former University of Kentucky superstar Oscar Tshiebwe to a new two-way contract.

The news was shared online by NBA beat reporter Scott Agness, who wrote:
"Oscar Tshiebwe, who spent the 2023-24 season with the Pacers, has returned to the Utah Jazz on a two-way deal. He appeared in 14 games with the Jazz last season, averaging 8 pts and 9 rebs in 18 mins per game."
This is the time of year when NBA teams can use two-way deals to try and find their next lottery ticket. Oftentimes these are skilled and athletic players who may just need a little more time to develop. That is certainly the case with Oscar Tshiebwe.
Hailing from Lubumbashi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tshiebwe didn't pick up a basketball until 2014 when he was 14 years old. He would move to Virginia soon after and would show a real talent for the sport. By the time his high school career ended, he was a five-star prospect.
Tshiebwe began his college career at West Virginia before he transferred to the University of Kentucky. He had a breakout year in 2021-22, leading the nation in rebounding with 15.2 per game and scoring 17.4 points. He was named a Consensus First-Team All-American and was honored as the National Player of the Year.
The center has mostly played in the G League since entering the NBA, though he showed some real potential in the 14 games he played with the Jazz last year, putting up 7.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
