Hawks Star Trae Young Can't Wait to Play With Kristaps Porzingis

It is hard to believe, but Trae Young will be entering his 8th year in the league in 2025. From his first season, the point guard has been an offensive force, and he only expects that to continue now that the team has added Kristaps Porzingis.

Young has proven to be adept at both scoring the ball from anywhere on the court and dishing the rock to teammates. He has shot 35.2% from three-point range over his career, averaging 25.3 points per game and 9.8 assists.

While those stats are certainly eye-catching, they could potentially get even better with Porzingis on the floor. The 7-3 Latvian shot 41.2% from three-point range last year, opening the middle of the court for his teammates.

Young recently said on the Point Podcast:

"Kristaps brings a lot to our team... If he's healthy for our team, the sky's the limit. Just what he brings to our team. The ability to stretch the floor. I think, now, I'll be able to get to the basket even easier. With the bigs not being able to sit in the middle of the paint. You have to guard Kristaps now at the three-point line. He's a threat from the half court up... I'm looking forward to playing with him. I know we're gonna both make our lives a lot easier."

The Hawks have been a consistently strong team since Young has been a part of it, though they have capped out at a second-round exit. Adding Porzingis into the fold in a suddenly wide open Eastern Conference could change their fortunes.
