Becky Hammon Makes Major Statement On A'ja Wilson as the WNBA's Best Player

This season has once again been another stellar one for the Las Vegas Aces, and especially superstar A'ja Wilson, who continues to show why she's one of the best players in the world. She may not take home MVP for a fourth time this season, but she was just awarded the WNBA's Defensive Player of the Year Award, her third time winning the award.

In the past three years, Wilson has averaged 23, 27, and 23 points a night while also posting 10, 12, and 10 boards per game, leading the Aces to two WNBA titles and establishing herself as the best in the league.

Now, Becky Hammon is questioning just how good she can be, admitting that not only is she the best player in the WNBA, but perhaps the best player ever, a conversation she certainly belongs in at this point in time.

“If she's the best ever to play in the WNBA, I could make a strong argument she is the best ever to walk this planet.”

If the 29-year-old continues her current pace, there's no one in WNBA history who could even come close to her accomplishments, meaning there will likely be no argument around her standing in league history.

Sure, the MVP this season is likely going to Lynx star Napheesa Collier, but over the past three years, there's been no player better than Wilson, meaning she's earned her place in the conversation that Becky Hammon is ready to put her in.
