NBA Rookie Thinks This Stephen Curry Record is Unbeatable
Mar 9, 2026
Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter to ever play the game of basketball. There isn’t really much room for debate. Over the last ten or so seasons, Curry has cemented himself. Nobody has or does shoot the ball more accurately or score more efficiently than Stephen Curry.
Curry has the records to prove it. He has made more three-pointers than anyone ever. He has the highest career free-throw percentage. Most three-pointers made in a season. The most threes made in NBA Finals history. The list goes on and on.

The one thing that threatens Curry’s three-point shooting records is that when Curry entered the league, people just weren’t shooting as many threes as they are today. For example, during Curry’s rookie season, he averaged under five three-point attempts per game. The top three-point shooter in this year’s rookie class, Kon Knueppel, is averaging eight attempts per game.
Knueppel recently discussed Curry’s shooting records and which ones he believes are beatable and untouchable.
“I think the 400 3s in a season … I view that as pretty close to unbreakable... It’s up there in NBA history. I don’t know if the total is as unbreakable, just because early in his career, he missed some games, missed some times with the ankles, but also just wasn’t shooting as many as maybe players are shooting them today.”
If early in his career Curry was able to huck threes like players are today, there’s no way his records would ever be caught. But the game has changed. Because of those changes, Curry’s records may not hold for as long as they should. That doesn’t take away from the fact that until another legendary player enters the league, he is still and will continue to be the greatest shooter ever.
