NBA Insider Believes a Star is Joining the Warriors This Summer
Mar 9, 2026
Is the Golden State Warriors' dynasty finally over? It is certainly starting to look like it. With Jimmy Butler out the rest of the season and Stephen Curry slowly recovering from a knee injury, the Warriors aren’t looking like a threat to contend in the Western Conference.
For Stephen Curry and the Warriors, this could be a wake-up call. Is the Warriors' front office doing everything in its power to maximize the end of Curry’s career? Or do they need to bring in another star to help give Curry a final shot at landing a fifth NBA title?

NBA insider Marc Spears believes that the Warriors are not going to sit around and hope for help this summer. He believes the Warriors will be big game hunting once the offseason starts.
“I think he knows whether it's a Giannis, whether it's a LeBron James, there's going to be somebody next summer that's going to join him, join Jimmy, join Draymond.”
The Warriors tried to get Giannis at the trade deadline but weren’t able to pull off a trade. There have also been reports of them attempting to trade for LeBron James. The Warriors' desire for another star has never been the issue. The problem is, do they have enough valuable trade assets to land a star in a trade?
Right now, the Warriors don’t have any super intriguing young talent, so they’ll need to use their draft capital if they want to bring in another big name. The Warriors' draft picks for the post-Curry era are looking pretty valuable. If a team wants to gamble on the Warriors being bad in few seasons, they could actually have a shot at landing another star this summer. That being said, LeBron or Giannis might be long shots.
