WATCH: Indiana Pacers Star Booed At WWE Event

Indiana Pacers superstar Tyrese Haliburton attended WWE's Summer Slam event last night and was booed by the crowd when he was shown on the jumbotron.

After the teams engaged in a legendary rivalry in the 1990s, the New York Knicks and the Pacers are again fierce rivals. The Pacers dispatched the Knicks during the Eastern Conference finals last year, and Haliburton regularly engaged with the crowd in the same way Reggie Miller did in the 90s.

These actions earned him the hatred of the New York crowd, and last night's WWE event was held in New Jersey in a building full of Knicks fans. So when the WWE showed Haliburton on the screen, he was roundly booed. Just as he did in the playoffs, Haliburton seemed to feed off the negative energy playing along and gesturing to the crowd.

The Pacers star is currently rehabbing from a devastating Achilles tendon injury he suffered during the NBA finals and is not expected to appear on the court for the team this year, but he still seems to be enjoying himself during the offseason.

This isn't the first time that Haliburton has made a splash during a WWE event. Last summer, Haliburton and Knicks' star Jalen Brunson got involved in a match between wrestlers Logan Paul and LA Knight. The two didn't actually hit each other but did brandish steel chairs at one point.

Haliburton has emerged as not only one of the best players in the NBA but also one of the most entertaining, and the appearance at Summer Slam was just one more example of that.
