Ivica Zubac Makes Hilarious Joke About Teammate Kawhi Leonard's Situation This Summer

This offseason has certainly been a wild ride for the Los Angeles Clippers, with plenty of good and bad coming out of the organization. On the positive side, the team reunited with Chris Paul before adding Bradley Beal, John Collins, and Brook Lopez, giving them one of the deepest lineups in the entire NBA heading into the new season.

However, there's been immense drama surrounding the franchise, with Kawhi Leonard and Steve Ballmer involved in a report that stated the owner gave his star player almost $30 million under the table. It's become the butt of many jokes around the NBA, and while it's clearly a serious situation, it hasn't stopped one of Leonard's teammates from making a joke about it.

During preseason media, Ivica Zubac was asked which player on the team he'd want to swap lives with, and instead of answering the question, he made a joke about Kawhi.

“Being Kawhi this past summer was not easy, so I’m not picking Kawhi.”

It's unclear if this was a joke that would have gone down well in the locker room, but given that there's likely going to be no consequences for Leonard in this situation, it's highly likely that many Clippers found it hilarious.

Ultimately, this Leonard saga was one of the biggest stories of the NBA offseason, and clearly, players aren't shy about broaching the topic. But with no punishments becoming clear for Kawhi or the Clippers, it could be a joke among players in the NBA for years to come.
